Lochbuie appears as a hidden realm, secluded by a crescent of rugged mountains from the broader expanse of the island. This painting unveils a verdant stage nestled within the embrace of nature’s rocky amphitheatre, meeting the sea loch in a theatrical ribbon of grey sandy beach, rocky outcrops, boulder field and craggy rocks.
